I believe that 32A District Court should be a constant resource for educating youth as well as be a positive influence in the community.
Showing kids how the judicial system works is important, so we have second-grade students from Beacon Elementary School attend court annually to watch proceedings and ask questions of the judge. I also have been the judge for high school and college mock trial tournaments. As a way to show the importance of duty in the community, I swear in the safety patrol officers for Tyrone, Poupard, and Chandler Park Academy Elementary Schools each year. And it was my pleasure to read aloud to Beacon students for their annual reading program.
32A District Court has also served as a training facility for the University of Detroit Mercy Law School students, operating under the supervision of their clinical instructor.
